Creepy Tarantula Wallpaper

Creepy Tarantula Wallpaper spotlights a large spider with eight spooky legs and a terrifying huge hairy body. But this eerie looking arachnid is quite harmless except for a bite not even as painful as a bee sting. They have a unique ability to regenerate legs they have lost. To ensnare their prey, tarantulas spin a line of silk, used as a tripwire which signals an approaching object. They grab the prey with their legs and inject a paralyzing venom, then kill them with their strong fangs. Tarantulas produce a special digestive enzyme which liquefies the prey’s body for quick digestion. A tarantula can then eat enough in one sitting to last for a month! We should investigate this special enzyme. It could cure obesity!!

Red Veined Darter Dragonfly Wallpaper

Holly Rothbard — Fri, 21 Feb 2014 04:46:54 +0000

Red Veined Darter Dragonfly Wallpaper focuses on a common insect found in southern Europe and in northwest Europe including Britain and Ireland. The males have bright red abdomens and wings with red veins. The bases of their hind wings are yellow, and their most unique feature is the blue underside of the eyes. They are found in all sorts of stagnant water, but since they are migratory, they are often found away from water. They look so dangerous that people thought they could sting and bite, and the old myths were created to discourage people from getting near them. Whatever the myths may be, dragonflies cannot sting. They will not bite or attack you.

Flower Attracts Butterfly Wallpaper

Holly Rothbard — Thu, 13 Feb 2014 16:01:53 +0000

Flower Attracts Butterfly Wallpaper captures a unique pairing. Butterflies and flowers are made for each another. A poet once said, “butterflies are flying flowers, and flowers are tethered butterflies”. Mature butterflies have large vibrantly colored wings. They feed on nectar from flowers. Butterflies also pollinate some plants. They are beautiful insects and their incredible metamorphosis fires the imagination. Henry Thoreau wrote: Happiness is like a butterfly: the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder.

Butterfly Alights Wallpaper

Holly Rothbard — Thu, 30 Jan 2014 03:08:03 +0000

Butterfly Alights Wallpaper displays a beautiful orange insect amongst striking pink flowers.

The black markings on the butterfly’s wings identifies it to other butterflies. The flowers, also, have ultraviolet markings which invite the butterfly to pollinate it. A butterfly’s eyesight enables it to see many ultraviolet colors which humans can not see. Tiny scales form a pattern on the butterfly’s four brightly colored wings. This insect does not like the cold. It requires a body temperature of about 85 degrees in order to fly. Nerve endings in the butterfly’s feet enable it to taste. The feet “taste” the food that the butterfly stands on!
